Nevada State College President Fred Maryanski Dies

HENDERSON, Nev. Nevada State College President Fred Maryanski passed away Friday evening. Maryanski was 63.

He has served as NSC president since 2005. He was the college longestserving president.

His contributions to Nevada State College are remarkable, and for this reason, his memory will be a permanent fixture in the hearts and minds of the Nevada System of Higher Education, said Nevada System of Higher Education Chancellor Dan Klaich.

Students, faculty and staff at Nevada State College will fondly remember our dear friend, Fred Maryanski, for his compassion and generosity. Fred is a priceless treasure at Nevada State and in this community. We are so fortunate to have had his leadership, said Provost Lesley DiMare.

Maryanski is survived by his wife, three children and three grandchildren. Cause of death is still unknown.
